Indications of Fexo 120 mg

Allergy rhinitis: Fexo 120 mg is advised to treat seasonal and ongoing allergic rhinitis symptoms in adults and children aged 12 and above. It is possible to treat symptoms including sneezing, rhinorrhea, lacrimation, itchy, red eyes, and itchy nose, palate, and throat. Fexo 120 mg improves work/activity productivity and health-related quality of life. Fexo 120 mg is advised for the management of chronic idiopathic urticaria symptoms in adults and children 12 years of age and up. Fexo 120 mg markedly reduces the frequency of wheals and pruritus associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria. Fexo 120 mg improves work/activity productivity and health-related quality of life.

Pharmacology of Fexo 120 mg

The H1 histamine receptor mediates hypersensitivity and allergic responses. Mast cells and basophils degranulate in response to allergen exposure, releasing histamine and other inflammatory mediators. Histamine binds to and activates H1 receptors, causing basophils and mast cells to produce more pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukins. These downstream effects of histamine binding bring on many allergy symptoms, including pruritus, rhinorrhea, and watery eyes.

Because it binds to and stabilizes the inactive version of the H1 receptor, Fexo 120 mg is referred to as an "inverse agonist" of the receptor because it prevents activation and the consequent actions of the receptor. Despite its strong and specific affinity for H1 receptors, there is no proof that it possesses an antidopaminergic, antiserotonergic, anticholinergic, sedative, or adrenergic blocking effect. Since Fexo 120 mg does not cross the blood-brain barrier, it is unlikely to significantly impact the central nervous system.

Therapeutic Class of Fexo 120 mg

Non-sedating antihistamines

Interaction of Fexo 120 mg

Hepatic processes cannot cause Fexo 120 mg to interact with other drugs because it does not undergo hepatic biotransformation. The co-administration of Fexo 120 mg with ketoconazole or erythromycin has been found to boost plasma levels of Fexo 120 mg by two to three times. The modifications did not increase adverse events or affect the QT interval compared to the medicine administered individually. There was no proof that omeprazole and Fexo 120 mg were related. However, when Fexo 120 mg was given 15 minutes before an antacid that contained gels of magnesium hydroxide and aluminum, there was a decrease in its bioavailability, most likely due to binding in the gastrointestinal tract. It is recommended that patients wait two hours after administering Fexo 120 mg before using antacids containing magnesium hydroxide and aluminum.

Contraindications of Fexo 120 mg

Patients having a history of known hypersensitivity to any of the components in fexo 120 mg hydrochloride should not take this medication.

Side Effects of Fexo 120 mg

The frequency rating that follows has been used where appropriate: Not known: 1/1,000 (frequency cannot be approximated from the current data); extremely common: 1/100; common: 1/100; uncommon: 1/1,000; rare: 1/10,000; very rare: 1/10,000; and common: 1/100. Within each frequency category, undesirable consequences are enumerated in decreasing order of severity. Adult clinical trials have identified the following adverse effects, whose frequency is similar to that of a placebo: Common ailments of the neurological system include vertigo, exhaustion, and headaches. Nausea is a common gastrointestinal symptom, with general gastrointestinal problems and administration site problems. Not usual: fatigue. Adult post-marketing observation has revealed the following detrimental effects. They don't happen often, and the currently available data makes it impossible to determine how frequently they occur. Anxiety, nightmares, insomnia, or excessive dreaming (paranoia); Cardiac conditions like palpitations and tachycardia; Diarrhea as a gastrointestinal ailment; Immune system disorders, including hypersensitive reactions that include angioedema, tightness in the chest, dyspnea, flushing, and systemic anaphylaxis; Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders, including urticaria, pruritus, and rash.

Overdose Effects of Fexo 120 mg

Fexo 120 mg overdoses have been linked to symptoms like fatigue, sleepiness, dry mouth, and dizziness. Up to 800 mg single doses, up to 690 mg twice daily for one month, or up to 240 mg once daily for a year have been administered to healthy volunteers without causing clinically significant adverse reactions compared to placebo. The highest amount of fexo 120 mg hydrochloride considered safe is unknown. It is important to consider basic procedures to eliminate any medication that has not been absorbed. Psychological support and symptom treatment are recommended. Hemodialysis is ineffective in effectively removing fexo 120 mg hydrochloride from the blood.

Pregnancy & Lactation of Fexo 120 mg

There is not enough data available on pregnant women who use fexo 120 mg hydrochloride. Limited animal research does not provide evidence of direct or indirect harmful effects on pregnancy, embryonal/fetal development, parturition, or postnatal development. If fexo 120 mg hydrochloride is not required, it should not be used while pregnant.

The composition of human milk after administering fexo 120 mg hydrochloride is unknown. Conversely, Fexo 120 mg was discovered to pass into human breast milk when Terfenadine was given to nursing mothers. Therefore, fexo 120 mg hydrochloride is not advised for moms who are nursing their infants. There are no known human data regarding the impact of Fexo 120 mg hydrochloride on fertility. In mice, therapy with Fexo 120 mg hydrochloride did not affect fertility.

Precautions & Warnings of Fexo 120 mg

As is the case with most new drugs, there is little data on the elderly and patients with hepatic or renal impairment. The administration of Fexo 120 mg must be done with caution in these specific categories. Patients with a history of active cardiovascular disease should be advised of the potential side effects of antihistamines, as this medicine class has been associated with tachycardia and palpitations. Impact on the ability to drive and operate machinery: According to the pharmacodynamic profile and documented adverse events, a person's capacity to drive or operate machinery is unlikely to be affected by fexo 120 mg hydrochloride tablets. In objective testing, Fexo 120 mg has had no discernible impact on the central nervous system's functionality. This means that patients can drive or perform other high-stress tasks. As a result, it's best to assess each person's behavior before operating machinery or performing other demanding tasks to identify sensitive people who may be experiencing an unexpected pharmaceutical reaction.

Storage Conditions of Fexo 120 mg
