Indication of Exium MUPS 20 mg
Exium MUPS 20 mg is recommended to relieve persistent heartburn and other symptoms associated with GERD and for erosive esophagitis therapy. To preserve the recuperative capacity of the erosive esophagitis, Helicobacter pylori infection can be eliminated when combined with amoxicillin and Clarithromycin to treat duodenal ulcer disease patients with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Ulcers in the stomach and duodenum are brought on by acid reflux.
Pharmacology of Exium MUPS 20 mg
The proton pump inhibitor Esomeprazole inhibits gastric acid by preventing the gastric parietal cell's hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system from functioning. Proton pump inhibitors can temporarily effectively treat duodenal and stomach ulcers. Additionally, Esomeprazole provides NSAID-associated stomach ulcer prevention and treatment.
Administration of Exium MUPS 20 mg
Take one Exium MUPS 20 mg pill or capsule and finish it all an hour before a meal. Use guidelines for Delayed-Release Oral Suspension: Pour the contents of the entire packet into a small glass with 15 milliliters of water. Give the mixer a good whirl, then wait two to three minutes for it to thicken. Stir again and serve after 30 minutes. If any medicine remains after intake, add extra water, swirl, and drink immediately. Fill the syringe with 15 ml of water if the suspension is administered via a stomach or nasogastric tube. Allow the suspension to thicken for two to three minutes after shaking the syringe. Administer a gastric or nasogastric injection into the stomach of the patient after shaking the syringe for 30 seconds. Ensure that the syringe is of the appropriate size. Any residual materials left in the gastric or nasogastric tube should be shaken and consumed. The recommended method to administer esomeprazole IV is through a gradual injection. Add 5 ml of the designated solvent (WFI) to the vial to prepare the IV injection solution. Infuse the solution slowly over a minimum of three minutes after reconstitution. Once reconstituted, the solution must be used within 12 hours at room temperature, up to 30°C. There's no need to refrigerate the solution. If any visible particles are present in the reconstituted solution, use caution while administering it.
Dosage of Exium MUPS 20 mg
Adults (≥18 years old) with erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for four weeks.
Youngsters (12–18 years old): 40 mg once daily for four weeks.
Maintenance of healing in adults (over 18 years of age) with erosive esophagitis: 20 mg once a day.
Twelve to eighteen years old: 20 mg once a day.
NSAID-associated gastric ulcer risk reduction: Adult (≥18 years): 20 mg daily for 4–8 weeks.
Elimination of H. pylori (Esomeprazole MUPS pill with 1000 mg Amoxicillin and 500 mg Clarithromycin): 20 mg twice a day for seven days for adults (≥18 years).
Youngsters (12–18 years old): Take 20 mg daily for seven days.
Adults (≥18 years old) with idiopathic hypersecretion and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: 40–80 mg twice a day.
Children aged 1 to 11:
Enzymatic esophagitis: If you weigh less than 20 kg, take 10 mg once daily for eight weeks. If you weigh over 20 kg, take 10 or 20 mg once daily for eight weeks.

Youngsters younger than one-year-old: Using esomeprazole MUPS tablets in infants under one year old is not recommended.
Contraindications of Exium MUPS 20 mg
Patients with a history of known hypersensitivity to any formulations should not use Esomeprazole.
Side effect of Exium MUPS 20 mg
The most common side effects associated with Exium MUPS that have been recorded include dry mouth, headache, nausea, flatulence, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. When comparing maintenance treatment to short-term treatment, no discernible difference exists in the associated adverse events observed up to 12 months.

Pregnancy & Lactation of Exium MUPS 20 mg
Being pregnant Pregnancy-related studies are lacking; Esomeprazole is the omeprazole S-isomer; epidemiologic data available does not show that using omeprazole in the first trimester increases the risk of major congenital malformations or other unfavorable pregnancy outcomes; reproduction studies in rats and rabbits showed dose-dependent embryo-lethality at omeprazole doses that were roughly 3.4 to 34 times an oral human dose of 40 mg (based on a body surface area for a 60 kg person). Nursing The S-isomer of omeprazole, Esomeprazole, is thought to be present in human milk based on scant information; clinical studies on the drug's effects on nursing infants or milk production still need to be made.
Precautions & Warnings of Exium MUPS 20 mg
General: Stomach cancer is not entirely ruled out, even in cases when taking Exium MUPS 20 mg produces positive symptoms. The advice states that patients should take esomeprazole capsules at least one hour before meals. For patients with difficulty swallowing pills, you can carefully pour the pellets within the Exium MUPS 20 mg capsules onto a spoonful of applesauce placed into an empty bowl. Once the pellets and applesauce have been combined, consume the concoction right away. Use only cool, soft enough applesauce to eat without biting. The pellets should not be broken or chewed on. Storing the pellet/applesauce mixture for subsequent use is not recommended. Antacids are acceptable to take when taking Esomeprazole.
