Indications of Dexpoten Plus 100ml
Symptomatic alleviation for upper respiratory tract infections along with a dry cough. Lowers swelling of nasal passages and temporarily relieves symptoms associated with common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), other upper respiratory allergies, cough owing to slight irritation of the throat or bronchi, runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose or throat, itchy, watery eyes, and nasal congestion.
Pharmacology of Dexpoten Plus 100ml
This medication is a combination of an antihistamine, decongestant, and antitussive. Dextromethorphan acts centrally on the cough center in the medulla and is a non-narcotic antitussive medication that is safe and effective. Despite sharing structural similarities with morphine, this substance lacks analgesic and habit-forming qualities, and its soothing effects are generally mild. A decongestant that constricts blood vessels in the nose canal is phenylephrine. It is applied to relieve congestion in the sinuses and nasal passages that drain inner ear fluid.
