Pharmacology of Amodis 400mg

Dosage & Administration of Amodis 400mg
Tablet and Suspension:
(Over 10 years old adults & children) Trichomoniasis (For Adults & Kids Older Than Ten) -
200 mg tid or 400 mg bid for seven days.
Take 800 mg in the morning and 1-2 gm at night for two days.
One dosage of two grams is given once a day
Child trichomoniasis-
Children aged 7 to 10: 100 mg twice a day
Children 3–7 years old: 100 mg twice a day
50 milligrams twice a day for children 1-3.
Amoebic enteritis (Older Adults & Children)-
800 mg every five days
Child amoebic enteritis-
Children 7 to 10 years old: 400 mg twice daily; children 3 to 7 years old: 200 mg twice daily; and children 1-3 years old: 200 mg twice daily. Extraintestinal amoebiasis without symptoms 400–800 mg once daily for 5–10 days.
Children with Extra-intestinal and Asymptomatic Amoebiasis should take 200-400 mg twice daily. For children aged 3-7 years, 100-200 mg twice daily. Adults and children over 10 years of age with Giardiasis should take 2 gm daily for 3 days, 2 grams. For children aged 7-10, 1 gm once daily. For children ages 3-7, 600-800 mg once daily. For 1-3 year olds, 500 mg once daily. Adults and kids over 10 years with Acute Dental Infections should take 200 mg twice daily for 3-7 days. For children aged 1-10, 100 mg twice a day. For adults and children over 10, 400 mg once daily for 7 days. For adults and children over 10 years of age, the recommended dose is 400 mg daily for 7 days at an initial dose of 800 mg and then 400 mg each day for 7 days. Anaerobic infections for adults and children over the age of 10 years should be administered at a dose of 400 mg per day starting 24 hours before surgery. For children aged 1-10 years, the recommended dose should be 400 mg per day at a dose of 700 mg per day before surgery.
Overdose Effects of Amodis 400 mg
Amodis 400 mg single oral dosages up to 12 g have been documented in accidental overdoses and suicide attempts. Only slight dizziness, ataxia, and vomiting were present as symptoms. Overdosing on Amodis 400 mg does not have a specific counteragent. Treatment with Amodis 400mg should be initiated with symptomatic measures and supportive measures in cases of suspected massive overdosages.
Contraindication of Amodis 400mg
A history of metronidazole or other nitroimidazole derivative hypersensitivity. First-trimester pregnancy and lactation.
Precaution of Amodis 400mg
Suppose Amodis needs to be given for an extended period of time due to compelling reasons. In that case, it is advised that haematological tests, particularly leucocyte count, be performed regularly and that patients be observed for peripheral and central neuropathy symptoms (e.g., paresthesias, ataxias, disorientation, convulsions). Patients with liver encephalopathy should administer Amodis with caution. Patients should be advised that Amodis may cause urine to darken.
Side Effect of Amodis 400mg
Gastrointestinal problems include vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, or an unpleasant metallic taste. Candida overgrowth results in stomatitis, glossitis, and furred tongue. Rarely is colitis linked to antibiotics. Weakness, headache, ataxia, dizziness, sleeplessness, mood swings, or altered mental state. Tingling or numbness in the limbs, epileptiform seizures (long-term or high-dose treatment). Leucopenia and thrombocytopenia are transitory. Hypersensitivity responses. Urine discoloration and irritation in the urethra. Elevated liver enzyme levels, jaundice, and cholestatic hepatitis. The IV thrombophilia. Anaphylaxis: May be fatal.
Pregnancy & Lactation
The US FDA pregnancy category for Amodis 400 mg is B. However, there isn't enough thorough research done on expectant mothers. Amodis 400mg should only be taken during pregnancy, as studies on animal reproduction are not necessarily indicative of human reaction. It has been demonstrated that human milk excretes 400 mg of amodis. Therefore, care should be taken when giving Amodis 400 mg to a nursing mother.
