Pharmacology of Losectil 20 mg
A substituted benzimidazole called omeprazole inhibits stomach acid release. It inhibits the hydrogen-potassium-adenosine triphosphatase (H+/K+ ATPase) enzyme system in the gastric parietal cell. Following oral administration, the antisecretory effect starts to take effect within an hour, reaches its peak impact within two hours, and inhibits secretion for up to 72 hours. The secretory activity progressively recovers over three to five days when the medication is stopped.

Hypomagnesemia risk is higher when using diuretics. May raise prothrombin time and INR when taking warfarin. Elevated danger of cardiotoxic consequences from digoxin. It may raise methotrexate, clarithromycin, and benzodiazepines (like diazepam) in the plasma levels. reduced absorption of iron salts, dasatinib, posaconazole, ketoconazole, and itraconazole. May take longer for diazepam, ciclosporin, phenytoin, and cilostazol to be eliminated. may lessen clopidogrel's antiplatelet action. Potential Fatal: It may lessen the pharmacological effects of atazanavir, nelfinavir, and rilpivirine, as well as their plasma concentrations.
